I've been reading a LOT of fan-fiction these last few days. And because of the most recent Harry Potter movies a good number of them feature chars that are either brought back from the dead or at least not killed at all!
your challenge boils and ghouls...is to have two endings for a dead or killed char in whatever media and
1)have the *ending* you wish you saw
2)how they would have been saved or brought back to life
for me it's the guy Cary Elwis (sp?) played in SAW.
So...
1)something that showed at least he wasn't suffering anymore, even an ACME style safe crushing him to death. He was "saved" (safe!) geddit?
2)he makes it out but never has use of his feet again, now is the only *living* proof that Jigsaw existed - if only before the next movie....:evilangel:

1)Having Damien Thorne win at the end of The Omen III.
2)Actually, He wasn't supposed to die, according to the first movie(not entirely, anyway). He's supposed to be impaled by SEVEN daggers, in the sign of a cross, not one dagger in the back.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

I love AU fanfic like that, sometimes can make for feel-good moments even if lessening the canon impact of the deaths X).
--SPOILER ALERT! Many people have not seen Hunting Humans, so unless you have, please steer clear if you mind spoilers--
1) The second killer from Hunting Humans survives instead of Aric
2) Whilst Aric has placed numerous guns around his lawn, when Aric goes to shoot the second killer, he finds that they are unloaded. It becomes clear to the audience that the second killer knew Aric's pattern well enough to realize he'd try to hide weapons however he could, leading him to discover and unload the cache while his target was at the office.
A split second after Aric pulls the trigger to discover an empty weapon, the second killer shows off his alleged martial arts skills by beating his victim to death, laughing in superiority the whole time. The next day, Aric's co-workers find his body mutilated in front of their office, parts strewn everywhere. For the rest of their lives, they pity the smug psychopath, thinking he was an innocent victim the whole time.
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
