http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=5864 - One of my favorite horror-comedies is being remastered for Blu, and not only that, remastered with an even better print than the recently released DVD!!! Grainy as said DVD was, "Something Weird's" remastering on Basket Case was still, well, masterful! (with a clear image and full of sharp colors)
I still haven't made the switch to Blu-Ray, but I definitely feel like buying this disk pre-emptively so it doesn't go OOP on me before I can find a cheapo PS-triple (as I was already able to do with Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74, thank God!)
.
SOMEWHAT OFF-TOPIC EDIT: Well, TCM '74 Blu-Ray is apparently still in print after all! Get it while it lasts!!!
On top of that, Basket Case 3, once OOP and costing about $70.00 for a featureless and washed-out DVD, is getting a remastering for standard DVD as well!
(Straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.avmaniacs.com/forums/showthre...37&page=81)
Few bits of Basket Case related news could top this for me. Needless to say though, I would probably start drooling if plans were made to remaster all 3 films for Blu-Ray, with commentary, and pack them into a wicker-basket shaped box-set XD

âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
