It's a horror movie but it also doubles as a teen drama. I love how they use the mines in the original. That's something the remake doesn't have.

another re-make bites the dust....even with the 4 minis i snuck in the theater it still sucked

when did the original come out...?
was the story similar?
or was it like the original Halloween and H2O..?

The story is somewhat similar and I think the remake does a great job of nodding to the original. I think some of the characters are flipped and places are changed but it's still the same story, really. The original was a Canadian release from 1981 I think. Could be '82. It was a underrated film regardless.

suprisingly good i kind of meant to theatre thinking shit this horror will suck to say the least and it turned out to be a refreshing treat out that night i saw it
solid acting, good story, sure not flawless but nothing really that hampers it, and all and all really just a fun horror experience
