I can say I'm honestly surprised at how much I liked this one; the trailers made think "okay, this is going to be a fan-service film that's not going to take itself seriously at all," but once I watched it I realized that the killings were next to the only "cheesy" thing in there (And even they had some great suspense built around them for a good all-around package 
).
In my opinion the 3D film takes itself a TON more seriously than the original, and it makes both the physical and psychological elements a lot scarier. Though I miss the variety of weapons the miner used in his "trade" the "sing-song-crazy" angle in the end and the killer's original motives, just about every other element made up for the losses. Right now I'd give it at least a 7/10, and honestly want a sequel.
