ZachYour Favorite Leatherface Mask

Zach Wrote:In the original film, Leatherface wore three different masks;
"Killing Mask",
"Grandmother Mask"
"Pretty Woman Mask".

Gunnar Hansen commented: "the reason he wore a mask, according to Tobe and Kim, was that the mask really determined his personality. Who he wanted to be that day determined what mask he put on. So, when the Cook comes home, with Sally, Leatherface is wearing the 'Grandmother Mask' and he's wearing an apron and carrying a wooden spoon – he wants to be domestic, helpful in the kitchen. At dinner he wears a different face - the 'Pretty Woman,' which has make up.

The remake offered a more concrete explanation as to why Leatherface wore masks. As a child, a severe facial deformity ate away most of his nose and made him subject to cruel ridicule from his peers. Prior to killing people, he wore animal hides, cloths and leather masks that covered up the bottom of his face. Later he began to skin some of the people he killed and wore their faces as masks. In a difference with the original film, Leatherface does not seem to have different masks for different purposes, although he does change masks occasionally. He appears briefly without his mask on in some scenes of "The Beginning", but his face remains hidden in the shadows - though it oddly appears to have an abnormally pale skin color.

Okay back to my question what's your favorite mask?
I honestly like the no-nose explanation! That's one of the few things I really dug about the remake though it originated from the original script of part 3; gives him something monstrous under that mask of other men o.O.

1st film: I think all of them work within context; the final one seemed a little bit fake though I think I may prefer it since we really get surreal closer-looks there. Originally, I thought the "grandma mask" was Jerry's face considering how freaked out Sally was by it >.>

2nd: L.G.'s face (Though I'm not sure it fully counts); the way "Bubba" used it was brilliantly disturbing!

3rd: Didn't he only use the one there? Either way, it was damn good!

Don't remember much of the others >.>
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”
