There's a pretty good amount of info on the site but I'll definitely answer any questions you have here.
The labyrinth is definitely a major aspect of the filmâat least half of the story takes place inside it, and it's where we get some of our steampunk action. I'm glad you're excited about that aspect of it. We all have hard-ons for steampunk and used the idea of a more technologically advanced society subjugating the Athenians to work some of that into our story.
As for the 300/Jaws referenceâit's really just an easy way of saying that we have a group of ancient Greeks (with a fearless leader) fighting against the subjugation of a big evil, and coming head to head with a monster (who some refuse to even believe is real) who keeps popping up out of nowhere to tear people to shreds. And who, of course, is incredibly difficult to kill.
