I love AU fanfic like that, sometimes can make for feel-good moments even if lessening the canon impact of the deaths X).
--SPOILER ALERT! Many people have not seen Hunting Humans, so unless you have, please steer clear if you mind spoilers--
1) The second killer from Hunting Humans survives instead of Aric
2) Whilst Aric has placed numerous guns around his lawn, when Aric goes to shoot the second killer, he finds that they are unloaded. It becomes clear to the audience that the second killer knew Aric's pattern well enough to realize he'd try to hide weapons however he could, leading him to discover and unload the cache while his target was at the office.
A split second after Aric pulls the trigger to discover an empty weapon, the second killer shows off his alleged martial arts skills by beating his victim to death, laughing in superiority the whole time. The next day, Aric's co-workers find his body mutilated in front of their office, parts strewn everywhere. For the rest of their lives, they pity the smug psychopath, thinking he was an innocent victim the whole time.

âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
