Yeah me too. I hate it when people try to say that Saw is just all about torturing people and that it has no storyline.

A-Men to that! >:)
Silly if you ask me considering the theme of the films being retribution for various "sins" and having the victims "tortured" is a legit element of that theme. IMO the themes and the ways the plot can twist are what keep me coming back (IV and V kind of put me off; being tested for being obsessed and for being a cop on the trail aren't exactly interesting themes IMO :P)

I liked 'em all too, but IV is much lower than others on my list, and V is even lower

I can't choose which ones I like better than others. I used to like the 2nd the least, but the one I watch it the more a like it... that may have something to do with Franky G though lol.
I really like the 4th though! I don't get it when people say that it went down hill after that.

I don't mind the length though, as long as there is a good story to it (I mean, Friday the 13th lasted 10 films that didn't even have a strongly "connected" story); I admit though, if they do something "out there" like reveal another guy who was "there the whole time" just to keep things going it'll be iffy as fuck (Unless it's Lawrence, who really may have been "there the whole time")

I doubt we'll ever see his return, Briggs. For me, since they've impressed me for 6 sequels now, I'll watch every sequel they come out with. If it sucks, I'll know because I'm going to watch them all. Just like I know Saw - Saw VI is fucking bad ass.

Saw VI was a boatload better than Saw V. Of course, that's not saying much since Saw V has been the runt of the litter so far. You couldn't ask for a more perfect synergy between current events and a movie though. Some nice creative kills and a return to form for the series. I can imagine we'll see Lionsgate promoting the shit out of Saw VII (in 3-D) since they slacked this year because they thought the franchise was "bulletproof." Guess PA showed them it wasn't.

quoting a tweet i posted about the SAW series...
Quote:I watched "Saw VI" today. It was way better than V, worse than IV, same as III, crazy better than II, but Saw I is still the best

VI is a pretty solid #4 in my ranking, with all in the first trilogy fighting for the top spot. IMO part III has very good standing with me for the interaction in the sickroom (descent into madness) it had right alongside the story of revenge and forgiveness of the main dude, and part II gets big points for establishing a good share of series-tropes.

I can't wait to see Saw in 3D! Paranormal Activity was a total fluke, didn't see that coming. They had great marketing for that one.

I thought it was alright. Saw VI was much better.
