Daylight Yet Unseen Wrote:i prefer to be alone. again, its just a damn race. i'll be fine. summer race in Daytona=biggest race of the year. they'll have every cop in Florida there, chill out ya'll.

you have no idea how long i've wanted to go this. i will not miss this for the world.

ya know, like the song Big Grin

INTO THE NIGH, ONWARD WE RIDE
GULPIN DOWN POUNDS OF FUEL, PASS THE SPEED OF LIGHT!

It's not necessarily the race that could be dangerous. What if your hotel doesn't except the credit card because of a banking error, where would you stay? What if you get into a car accident in the cab? What if you get lost? There are lots of factors that could happen and you wouldn't know how to deal with them and your parents will have to try and solve them 2,000 miles away. You're not understanding this because you've never been on your own before, at least you haven't been on your own where your parents were at least 200 miles away. As an adult you should understand the dangers of traveling anywhere alone when you don't have to. I'm not the only person who thinks this... in fact many people will suggest you that.

That is a straight answer. You don't need to bring a switchblade to Daytona. And what Caroline said is a straight answer. Concealing a weapon in Florida is illegal or even if it's legal, you can still be charged. If you're walking around and you drop it, or if somebody sees it or if your attacked and you use it... the police can charge and fine you for concealing a weapon. Besides, taking it on board a plane is VERY illegal and you could be charged with possible terrorism. Putting it in a suitcase is also illegal because you are concealing it and like Caroline said, somebody is bound to find it when they are doing an X-ray of your bag. They'll call you off the plane and you'll be escorted by the police.

according to TSA, i can bring a knife it's in my luggage that goes into cargo hold and NOT on the plane. i just like having my knife, i'm not worried about safety bc the Speedway Inn (or the Motorway Inn, forgot the name) is close to the track so i'll be waking to the race. it;s only a couple miles. If you knew the answer or if you knew where to get the answer, why did you ask?

One would think that it's not logical to carry a switchblade onto an airplane regardless of whether it's in the cargo. Besides, having a concealed blade is illegal.

when i bought it, i put it in my purse then went into a grocery store to buy food, and took a bus. all with the blade in my purse. no problem at all.

oh and i just checked, in both Cali AND Florida you are allowed a concealed folder knife. so it's all good.

If you look under the Florida law book it says that you are allowed to have a folder knife concealed but you must have a license to do so. I don't know why. Further investigation says that a "common pocket knife" can be concealed, not a folder knife.

Bottom line, to have a concealed weapon is okay if you have a license.

Also, the security at Daytona WILL check your bag and if they see a knife, you're getting the policed called on your or you'll be taken off the grounds.

LOGIC!
