Apparently if your friends with one, you're friends with all of them… or so I found out. My friend claims he's not a hipsters but my god he dresses and acts like one. I don't like most hipsters although some, shockingly, are pretty cool. I use the word 'some' heavily. :booboo:

And the ones that you think are cool, aren't really hipsters. More than likely, they're old school geeks who have been into the same shit since they were kids, and now the bloody hipsters have come along and decided that the stuff those geeks are into is cool (or in hipster "I'm so ironic" speak: uncool) and stolen it for their own. The poor geeks are left oblivious with nothing to say but, "Hey. I really like your android evolution t-shirt!" To which the hipster answers, "Tch... I'm being ironic."

They're an epidemic in LA.

Funny because I was a geek/nerd back in high school and Junior high. I don't carry much of the attire over now but apparently wearing thick black rimmed glasses are cool and hipsters wear them even though they don't have any eye problem, unlike me where I do have a seeing problem. I went from getting picked on and ridiculed for having thick glasses in elementary school to being "cool" to point of falsifying a stigma in order to wear glasses that I hung my head in shame. That same went for pocket protectors, fedoras and long trench coats. :reddisgust::reddisgust:

I totally feel your pain, Freddy. Stuck with these glasses through all the most awkward stages of my life, and now that they're popular, I'm even more horrified by them. I'm going to have to bight the bullet and get contacts just so I can go back to being uncool. I still have a bunch of my best geek-gear from when I was a kid and teenager—my family thinks I have major horder potential—but most of my stuff is so geeky even the hipsters haven't picked up on it yet.

They haven't stolen the trench coats, too, have they? That would break my heart! I don't think I could take it!!! :eek:
