Since it was the only animated Disney film (until Home on the Range)
...how about a live action the Black Caldron (sp?) as I know too many people were disappointed with the original?

Any movie after 1960, although that's vague. But the list of movies that wouldn't work as a remake is very long but I'm sure a lot of the old b-movies or drive-in movies or even the obscure movies might do well as a remake. They just need to land in better hands.

Saw. They'll never be able to catch that same twist as the original. Just like how you cat remake the original F13th, its jus not possible to catch that twist.

Now, I'm willing to give all remakes a shot; no matter how much I love the original. I try to view all remakes with open eyes. However, I have thought of some movies that I just think could not work as a remake.
JAWS
This has one of the most realistic Sharks I have ever seen in a movie. When they remake this (you know they will) I already know that they will be changing the awesome shark we all know and love into a cartoon. I already know they won't go through the trouble of making a shark. Instead, the shark will be nothing more than a computer generated image. I can't stand GGI, so that movie most likely just wouldn't work with me. How can you be afraid of something you're just going to laugh at? Yes, I find myself laughing at most CGI.
There are more, but name yours and then I will name more.
Of course, they could come out with a "Special Edition" a la Star Wars.

Whatchu got girl?
I think we could turn pretty much any movie into a horror flick. My mind tends to wonder into the "what ifs" and daydream of disasters :eg: especially around people that deserve it.

Friday The 13th Wrote:I agree with you on the whole CGI shit.
And yea JAWS was a classic!
And your right if they remade it, they would just use fuckin' CGI. :reddisgust:
I agree with everyone on the CGI-to me it doesnt work-I like the old fashioned way of doing special effects
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuSwwZ1n6KU"]YouTube - FOOD OF THE GODS (1976, trailer) Bert I. Gordon[/ame]
Take the Food Of The Gods(1976) one of my favorite old school movies-Bert I. Gordon didnt have CGI to make the giant rats-he used real rats on miniature sets-CGI rats would have looked like CGI rats
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyTpkR2cwLo"]YouTube - Squirm (1976) - Trailer[/ame]
Or Squirm(1976) if you watch Jeff Lieberman's commentary on the DVD it is so interesting how they filmed this movie. It wouldnt be if they had used CGI.
Think about it
I hear they are re-making Kingdom of the Spiders-in 3D no less-I reckon they are going to ruin it. Pity it's another favorite of mine.

Oldboy. I know Spielberg was trying to get it off the ground with Will Smith as the lead and it following the graphic novels rather than a direct remake of the Korean film, but still. There's no way it'd live up to Chan-wook Park's film.

I only saw Oldboy in a while but I know it had a definite mood that could never be replicated. Spielberg, though I love his work, might ruin it. It doesn't seem like his kind of movie.

Cujo
Because it's not feasable now to be stranded without a cell phone-though I reckon she could be out of range and with all the foreign cars now it's not likely you'd be taking your car to some local mechanic-also the fact that most fire stations (at least around here ) have rabies clinics at least once a year where you can take your dog and get their shot for only 15 or 20 dollars-I just cant see it working but anythings possible

It might work if Stephen King has a hand in it and makes it like the book, example The Shinning.
