Yeah ok I could goive you that-but still, I think they'd have to come up with another reason for them to be there because of the foreign cars/computers in cars Im just not sure that is something they could work on-though I suppose she could be driving something older maybe

I still feel very strongly about them remaking Oldboy. With Spike Lee and Josh Brolin attached and Christian Bale's name being tossed around to join in as the villain, I'll admit that my interest is piqued. But I have a hard time believing a remake will be able to capture the same intensity, unpredictability, and atmosphere of the original film. I mean how the hell are they going to keep the original ending for US audiences? That shit wouldn't fly with mainstream neanderthals.

Yeah Oldboy was good but I dont think it would work for U.S. audiences either

Creamy, you nailed the biggest three problems that Americanized remakes of Japanese horror/thriller/drama movies suffer from; the lack of intensity, unpredictability, and atmosphere. I am glad that Will Smith wasn't given the opportunity, at least Brolin is more grizzled.
