My all time fave horror novel has got to The Rats by James Herbert. I first read it back in 1975, and thought it was just awesome!
His second novel, THE FOG, also had a great impact on me in terms of its sheer horror and thrills. And who could forget that horrific shears scene in the school gym!
Any other Herbert fans here?

Ive read his books in the past and I think The Rats was the basis for Deadly Eyes(1983)

I might have to see if I can pick up The Fog somewhere. I'm always willing to read new horror author novels.
