How did they do that? Was it like a Halloween episode or something? Didn't Family Guy make fun of Stephen King at one point in time?

They did, Misery, Shawshank Redemption, & Stand by Me (all the normal ones.) It was okay. I don't watch a ton Family Guy, but Loki can probably tell you if they made fun of him before. Then again, they make fun of everyone, so I wouldn't be surprised.

They once parodied King by having him writing a book about a "killer lamp" Tongue
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

At the end of the episode, Peter said "Thanks for watching, and Stephen King, we'll see ya court." Hehe, funny. To tell ya the truth, King probably really enjoyed this episode. If you are familiar with King outside of his books, it seems something he would dig. I mean, the guy loves Eminem. He is pretty wacky and seems a really cool guy. Damn I'd love to hang out with him and have a few beers.

But...............the episode itself.............I am a huge fan of Family Guy, and King, and sadly I didn't find the episode all that funny. I mean they got off a few good ones, but a lot of it seemed like recycled jokes. Kinda sad. Also, I wish they would have did different stories. I wanted Carrie, Pet Cemetery, and The Dark Tower. That would have been cool as hell!!!!!!!

wasn't there an episode where one of the guys ran into Dean Kootz (or somebody) with his car - and after finding out it wasn't Stephen King, went into reverse and hit him again??

on another note - the Simpsons went to a book fair where Marge met King :bowow: and after finding the plot of his latest book asked to be notified when he "went back to horror"
the note said

Yep! Very funny stuff. At least it was one part I enjoyed thoroughly. I have read like 2 Koontz books, and 1 was okay, the other poo. Anyone else read anything good by "Diet Stephen King"?

I've read "Watchers" (And seen several of the mostly-unfaithful movie adaptations), which was pretty entertaining IMO. Honestly I liked the kind of "feel-good" thing with the protagonists, made it suspenseful when bad stuff started to go down...

"Watchers" was the one that was okay to me. Hell, maybe I should give Koontz a chnce. Who knows?

my idea of diet Stephen King is not giving into my primal urge to buy whatever comes out by him - I have to read the back (discription) before deciding to do so.

Then if I do purchase it - not read the whole thing in a short time.

BTW - a friend sent me a pop-up book of the girl who loved tom gordon WTF?!
