Well as many around here already know, I found The Strangers to be one of the best horror films of this decade, and as such I am fairly excited at the possibility of a sequel... However something has got me damn worried, besides the already obvious problem of keeping the same suspense of the first one without lazily ripping elements... The rumored director, a Mr. Laurent Briet.
The Strangers 2 might have a director. And he’s French (gasp)! | MovieChopShop
The original writer, Brian Bertino also wrote the script for the sequel, though that doesn't mean his script will be the final one... The new script is apparently set in a trailer park and involves kids, which makes me fear that there'll be some sappy Hollywood ending to it... And given the rumored director being a "music video and commercial" director, well, that really has me on edge.
One of Laurent's short films. The coloring looks pretty "Strangers-y", though the video effects are pretty iffy.

âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ
