a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-01-2011 o i am 21 (i will be 22 this August) and i still cant drive a car. my mom says everyone is âbaffledâ at the fact iâm so old but i still dont have my license. everyone keeps asking me how i can possibly fail that test but i am astounded at how people actually PASS that test. it is impossibly hard with unbelievable standards. i have no problem with the written exam, but i cannot do the behind the wheel test. iâve failed 6 times. i have been trying since i was 17 and all in vain (nothing in veinâ¦) my parents tell me iâm worthless because i cant drive. they tell me about all the 16year olds they know that pass that test. but i just cant do it. i try my hardest, i give it all i got and then some, but i just CANNOT DRIVE. now, Wednesday, i have my permit test yet again. and...i did some research and i found out people in Los Angeles drive so badly that for the exam, if you do not hit anyone/anything during it, they pass you. i live in San Jose, about 7-8hours from LA. my dad said he is willing to drive me up to Los Anageles for the actual driving test. this...could be it. I CAN FINALLY PASS. ![]() City of Angels, indeed. a ray of hope - Dr. Briggs - 07-01-2011 Very interesting! Though I don't think so many bad attempts are that awful considering there have been normal (so it seems, as no one specified otherwise) people to test around 700 times to get their license, I understand how much of a stressful situation that kind of thing could be. I'm 19 and I don't have my license. I've tested only once thus far, but doing so again is a bit of an... issue; let's just say that my father, occasional bastard as he is, would probably disown me if I failed 2-3 times, which I don't even need to say is not a motivating factor. The pressure is undue, and I can only imagine how bad it is in your case even if your folks don't have such big sticks up their asses. I hope you do well in L.A., Daylight, it seems like the dream opportunity. Even if you don't though, please don't believe the "you're worthless" bullshit; driving's a big thing in western culture, but it's only one skill. a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-01-2011 thank you Briggs...means alot. See... LA is where dreams are made or broken. black or white. no gray area. this...is my one shot, my last chance. on to the Blvd of (Broken) Dreams. a ray of hope - DragonBlues - 07-01-2011 You can do it, Daylight!!!! If I can pass down here, so can you!!! And after you've passed your test down here, I'll buy you a drink!!
a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-01-2011 oooh! you're in LA? you better not be a Kings fan
a ray of hope - DragonBlues - 07-01-2011 LOL I was born here. OF COURSE I'm a Kings fan! Which was way more fun in the 90's than it has been recently.
a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-01-2011 sure you wanna be seen with a Sharks fan?
a ray of hope - DragonBlues - 07-01-2011 Nothin' better than a little friendly rivalry! LOL a ray of hope - FreddysFingers - 07-01-2011 Briggsby, you're only 19? Wow. I'm older than you. *ahem* Anyway, good luck Daylight on the exam. We'll counting on you. 'Cause if you don't pass, we'll hunt you down like a dog and feed you to the beast under the floor.
a ray of hope - Dr. Briggs - 07-02-2011 What is this about a free meal, elder? a ray of hope - FreddysFingers - 07-02-2011 Soon Briggs, soon you'll have fresh meat. If Daylight succeeds, we'll have to throw you a dead cow.
a ray of hope - DragonBlues - 07-02-2011 You would think with all the weird spammers, Briggs would be well fed... exdev:
a ray of hope - FreddysFingers - 07-02-2011 Briggs' stomach is a void. You can keep trying to fill it up with body remains but in the end of it all, it just won't be enough. a ray of hope - Mfish618 - 07-05-2011 One word of advise.....RELAX. I have a class A commercial driver's licence [truck] as well as a Coast Guard 100 ton Master's licence, so, clearly it's not rocket science. I understand how you might feel pressured, but you CAN do it! Best of luck and get the licence. a ray of hope - Marklar - 07-05-2011 You can do it Daylight, just relax as the Captain says..And You are not Worthless, believe in yourself.. Good luck..take care..
a ray of hope - CarolinePar - 07-05-2011 dead cow...SPAMMERS... what would I bring to a meet/eat/greet with TH? a container of frozen hurricane drink? planning now for less stress later...
a ray of hope - FreddysFingers - 07-06-2011 A container of frozen hurricane drink will be much appreciated Caro!!! However, such a gift would be frowned upon while taking a driver's test.
a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-07-2011 well i take my written exam tomorrow...i thought the 7th was Wednesday, haha. a ray of hope - Daylight Yet Unseen - 07-08-2011 so not that any of you give a shit, but i passed my written exam. now i gotta get into that four wheel heart attack and drive.
a ray of hope - DragonBlues - 07-08-2011 Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Way to go, Daylight!!!!! You can totally handle the driving part of the exam! I HAVE FAITH!!!!! |
