Daylight Yet Unseena ray of hope
#1
o i am 21 (i will be 22 this August) and i still cant drive a car.

my mom says everyone is “baffled” at the fact i’m so old but i still dont have my license. everyone keeps asking me how i can possibly fail that test but i am astounded at how people actually PASS that test. it is impossibly hard with unbelievable standards.

i have no problem with the written exam, but i cannot do the behind the wheel test. i’ve failed 6 times. i have been trying since i was 17 and all in vain (nothing in vein…)

my parents tell me i’m worthless because i cant drive. they tell me about all the 16year olds they know that pass that test. but i just cant do it. i try my hardest, i give it all i got and then some, but i just CANNOT DRIVE.

now, Wednesday, i have my permit test yet again.
and...i did some research and i found out people in Los Angeles drive so badly that for the exam, if you do not hit anyone/anything during it, they pass you.
i live in San Jose, about 7-8hours from LA. my dad said he is willing to drive me up to Los Anageles for the actual driving test.

this...could be it. I CAN FINALLY PASS.

Big Grin

City of Angels, indeed.

Very interesting! Though I don't think so many bad attempts are that awful considering there have been normal (so it seems, as no one specified otherwise) people to test around 700 times to get their license, I understand how much of a stressful situation that kind of thing could be.

I'm 19 and I don't have my license. I've tested only once thus far, but doing so again is a bit of an... issue; let's just say that my father, occasional bastard as he is, would probably disown me if I failed 2-3 times, which I don't even need to say is not a motivating factor. The pressure is undue, and I can only imagine how bad it is in your case even if your folks don't have such big sticks up their asses.

I hope you do well in L.A., Daylight, it seems like the dream opportunity. Even if you don't though, please don't believe the "you're worthless" bullshit; driving's a big thing in western culture, but it's only one skill.

LOL

I was born here. OF COURSE I'm a Kings fan! Which was way more fun in the 90's than it has been recently. Wink

Briggsby, you're only 19? Wow. I'm older than you. Wink

*ahem*

Anyway, good luck Daylight on the exam. We'll counting on you. 'Cause if you don't pass, we'll hunt you down like a dog and feed you to the beast under the floor. Wink

Soon Briggs, soon you'll have fresh meat. If Daylight succeeds, we'll have to throw you a dead cow. Smile

Briggs' stomach is a void. You can keep trying to fill it up with body remains but in the end of it all, it just won't be enough.

One word of advise.....RELAX. I have a class A commercial driver's licence [truck] as well as a Coast Guard 100 ton Master's licence, so, clearly it's not rocket science. I understand how you might feel pressured, but you CAN do it!
Best of luck and get the licence.

A container of frozen hurricane drink will be much appreciated Caro!!! However, such a gift would be frowned upon while taking a driver's test. Wink
