True. However, some horror movies from that decade are mistaken as comedy but the original context was meant to be serious. That's also what makes 80's horror so good.

Love Dead Snow... Some hilarious as well as some horrific moments.
Call me sick but I laughed at that crucifix scene in The Exorcist....
Devils Rejects and House of 1000 corpses have some funny moments. Mostly when Captain Spaulding is on screen...
