Lilith Wrote:Cause to me there is only one true Freddy Kruger and that is Robert Englund! In this case Robert made Freddy who he is, not the other way around. So seeing a new Freddy is going to be really difficult for me..

Bingo.

The ratio of good remakes to bad remakes is horribly dis-proportioned. This one being so "close" to my heart makes me want to hate it - Freddy is my favorite, all time horror icon. Englund defined Freddy & his sadistic humor - I'm all for making it "darker" (New Nightmare was AWESOME), but everything I've seen, from his new look, to his voice, to iconic shit they're leaving out (No exploding bed blood scene? WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT?) makes me die a little inside. At least they could have tossed Englund a cameo.

And seeing Michael Bay's name associated with it makes me ill - if you want a movie loaded with CGI and big 'splosions, but could give two shits about acting and writing, he's your man.
