Hellraiser remake taking a "youthful" approach

Was the My Bloody Valentine remake considered garbage? I had a lot of fun with it in 3D in theaters. So much fun that I never bothered picking it up on DVD or Blu-ray because I knew it wouldn't be the same. I consider films by Farmer and Lussier to be a huge guilty pleasure. I'm not exactly sure how that would translate in the Hellraiser world or if Halloween III will be worthwhile in the least, but they at least sound like their hearts are in the right place.
