All I've really heard so far is that Brad Douriff will be returning as the voice of Chucky.

As long as they have Brad Douriff as Chucky it won't be 100% crap. More like 99% crap.

Let's not get too hasty; I dunno where I read it but apparently the original writer is coming back to handle much of the creative process, including direction, and animatronics will still be used for the majority

I honestly wouldn't mind a remake. As long as its darker then the original but still has the humor.

Fred's fair about things, Showmenz, with so much substandard stuff coming out nowadays expecting the next remake coming out to be crap is understandable X)

I read an article the other day on shocktillyoudrop and it was from 08 but they said they had attached the writer of seed of chucky to write/direct the remake. I'm not to sure how much of that is still true tho.

That's what I was saying: I'm pretty sure the writer of Seed of Chucky wrote them all >.>

If wiki childs play they say that in 2010 universal green lit the movie and has already gone into preproduction and should be out later this year (very unlikely) or possibly next year.

Here is what I have found, but keep in mind this is still RUMOR at this point:

Produced By: David Kirschner

Written By: Don Mancini

Cast

Danny Trejo ... Paulie (rumored)

Brad Dourif ... Chucky (voice)

Scott Patterson ... Mike Norris (rumored)

Johnny Yong Bosch ... Uncle Jake Barclay (rumored)

Luke Manriquez ... Andy Barclay (rumored)

Lisa Foiles ... Andy's Babysitter (rumored)

Ariel Gade ... Terri (rumored)

Luke ... Extra (uncredited)

"The remake will tell the story of Chucky, all over again, but leave the comedy out. No more ‘side splitting’ Chucky, but the 2010 Child’s Play movie will be very dark and disturbing, holding true to it’s original roots.

In the Child’s Play movie, serial killer Charles Lee Ray gets gunned down by the police, and transfers his soul into a doll just before he dies. Days later, Andy Barclay gets the same doll for his birthday. In order for Charles (Chucky) to transfer his soul out of the doll, he must preform a voodoo chant on the first person he told his true identity to… Andy."

Take that for what it is worth...

Danny Trejo and Scott Patterson?? Can we say celeb casting? That kinda sucks; those guys can be way too over the top/Hollywood. I can understand the others better though.

I don't like taking all the humor out of it; Chucky's always been scariest as the cynical sadist type.
