(This post was last modified: 03-01-2009, 11:44 PM by Friday The 13th.)
No official plot yet,
but the original followed a group of friends as they vacationed at a small remote cabin,
where they are forced to fend off against each other after they're possessed by evil spirits from within the forest.
Updates
- There will be no Ash character in this film.
- Sam Raimi wanted to use the cabin that they used in the original film, but couldn't due to the fact that it burnt down many years ago.
- Raimi has said that he would rather not have Bruce in the film, but rather he be in the sequel.

Now to be honest,
I hate the fact that they 'might' remake this movie...
It's just to much of a 'Classic', and Bruce Campbell isn't even going to play Ash... WTF!?

From what I've heard Campbell will have a small cameo. Also I've heard that Raimi is returning. I'll check it out, but I don't know how I feel about this. It could go very good, or very bad.

I do believe this is the only remake that I feel that I don't like the idea of in any form. . NO ASH=NO EVIL DEAD. Okay, so Raimi did it. And Bruce Campbell is making a CAMEO? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! That's like making Friday the 13th without Jason.
Sound like pure poo....a.k.a.Super Turd Fest a.k.a. Crapzilla..a.k.a. Shit I DON'T WNT TO SEE DONE.. a.k.a. Arrrrrrggghhhhhhhhhh......................!!!!!!!!! Dude, please No. This movie should "Swallow This!"

What is the point of remaking a movie if you are going to leave out the main character (Ash)? Why not just add another sequel? In this case, it would be part 4. It would make a lot more sense, than to remake a movie and totally screw up the original characters, in my opinion.

I hate this idea too, but to be fair Campbell isn't interested in playing Ash anymore. At least that is what he has stated in a couple of interviews. I think he believes he is too old at this point. All I know is that I love Evil Dead and it's sequels and wish he would do one more movie as a send off.

To be fair I think they just waited too long. In one of the interviews that I read he actually mentioned Paramount dragging out the cast of the original Star Trek series a few too many times and doesn't want to look too foolish by trying to play Ash as an old man.

Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing an older wiser Ash. Instead of the remake I would hope that Raimi would actually get the ball rolling on another sequel to the series. I think they have waited too long as well though.
I've heard Raimi state in the past though that he would only make another Evil Dead with Campbell included, but I'm thinking a big paycheck might change his mind.

He stated before that he doesn't want to be known as the character Ash forever. I would definitely agree that he would probably change his mind for a nice check, though. I mean, what else is he doing? Well, besides those Old Spice commercials, lol.
It would be nice to see a sequel. At this point however, it would just be silly. Imagine people who are not horror fans seeing the trailer for an Evil Dead 4. "What the fuck? I didn't know there was even an Evil Dead one." That's exactly what a ton of people would think. It would be nice for us, people who follow horror films. However, it wouldn't be a smart move, financially speaking.

Well Campbell is on that USA show Burn Notice.
I didn't think it would be worth a damn but it's actually a pretty good show. Campbell is awesome on it too.

It's basically about a guy who had his identity erased. Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar are the only two people he can trust. Campbell is like a crafty ex-con type guy on the show and he's perfect for the role.
