mrblueHalloween franchise is seeking a new home

BLoody-Disgusting reports that Platinum Dunes is "in talks" to score the Halloween franchise and work alongside Dimension Films in bringing Michael Myers back to the big screen. Though Platinum Dunes is not the only company Dimension Films is taking the Halloween series to.

Essentially, Dimension is fielding interest from various companies...and Platinum Dunes just happens to be one of those contenders. So, while a Platinum Dunes-produced Halloween film could very well be a reality, it's all just "talk" right now. As for the "direction" that the series might take, I'm hearing that pitches are being fielded for a straight-up continuation of what Rob Zombie created and another reboot is being considered.

Talk about worst idea ever?

Worst idea ever was when they decided to let Rob Zombie touch the franchise.

Platinum Dunes best film is Friday the 13th (2009). The rest are steaming piles of shit, except for TCM ('03) & Amityville Horror ('05) - both were okay.

Absolutely.

All Rob Zombie did was put his own take on the movies. Michael Bay and co. are gonna ruin this one even more just like they did with ANOES.

I haven't even seen Nightmare and I still agree with this sentiment. Personally, I am pretty down on the PD remakes, but I can see why others would like them.

But Halloween? I thought Rob Zombie's version worked alright because it was more violent but took a gloomier tone to match. Platinum Dunes is going to make... an "extreme" Halloween, if the past is any indication. *blech*
“The Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audience’s deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... I’d better stop before I give myself nightmares”

I liked it better when Todd Farmer and is buddy were doing Halloween 3D. At least they have a better track record then PD.

And Briggs, dont torture yourself by watching the new Nightmare, just avoid it!
