Resident Evil 9: Requiem Is Coming—and We’re Losing Our Minds!

Hold onto your green herbs, horror fans! Resident Evil 9: Requiem has officially been announced, and it’s dropping in February 2026! Cue the eerie typewriter music and the collective squeal of gamers everywhere.

We’ve been waiting (impatiently) for this ever since the dust settled after Resident Evil: Village, which gave us towering vampire moms, creepy haunted dolls, and werewolves that definitely need to chill. And now, with Requiem on the horizon, Capcom is promising more of what we love: awesome gameplay, terrifying environments, and enough jump scares to make us knock over our fourth latte at 2 a.m.

What We Know About Resident Evil 9: Requiem… So Far

While details are still creeping out of the shadows, here’s what we do know: this game is going to continue the mainline story, possibly bringing back fan favorites (fingers crossed for Claire Redfield or Jill Valentine). And from the teaser trailer, it looks like Requiem is leaning into supernatural horror elements even more, with ruins, cult-like settings, and mutated nightmares straight from our darkest save files.

And let’s be real—every mainline Resident Evil title of the last decade has delivered something rad.

  • RE7: Biohazard: scared the heck out of us with the Bakers. (WHY are hillbillies always cannibals???)
  • RE2 Remake: A masterclass in high-stakes tension. (Mr. X scares the crap out of me EVERY TIME!!!)
  • RE8: Village: Gothic, bananas, and totally brilliant. (I mean… there’s literally something for everyone in this game!)
  • RE4 Remake: Leon S. Kennedy at his most morose. And most heroic. Days of gameplay. And horrific monsters. This game couldn’t be more epic. (LEON!!!)

What We’re Hoping For

If Requiem takes the best of all the earlier games, brings back some gnarly puzzles, and adds some fresh mechanics (maybe open-world horror?!), this could be the ultimate evolution of the survival horror video game. We’re here for the creepy corridors, over-the-top boss fights, and cryptic lore that’ll have us grinding out the trophy hunt for months.

We’ll definitely be covering Resident Evil 9: Requiem updates as they drop, and you better believe we’ll be playing it at launch (possibly while hiding under a blanket). Whether you’re a S.T.A.R.S. veteran or just jumped in with Village, Resident Evil: Requiem looks like it’s shaping up to be an absolute blast.

February 2026 can’t come soon enough. So, let the countdown (and the screaming) begin!

Who else will be playing Requiem? Leave a comment below — we’d love to know!
