And that’s a wrap for Scream Queens, folks.
It’s been reported that Fox has cancelled the series, because it failed to pull in the viewer numbers that Fox was looking for after giving the show two seasons. However, the show did perform decent when it came to recorded viewings, it’s just not that many people tuned in live.
Even though the show may have not been able to pull in the numbers that Fox would have liked to have seen out of the Ryan Murphy series, you have to admit that it had some serious social media power and influence.
The show was consistently blowing up my timeline, people were talking about it, quoting it, hashtagging the shit out of it, and I can’t even count all of the gifs I saw taken from clips in the show.
Still yet, during a conference call among execs at Fox, the show was confirmed as being cancelled:
It feels as if it was a complete series. We have no plans to go back and tell more stories there. We won’t be seeing ‘Scream Queens’ this season.
This does come as a bit of a surprise, as back in January, Fox executives said that a potential for season 3 was still there, and being considered:
It’s very much still in consideration for a renewal. The ratings don’t tell the whole story; because it’s such a young audience, you can’t really even see the full picture even in L+3.
This is a bad day for Scream Queens fans.
