I only saw it once... because it was not good fun. LOL
Not good fun is a reason not to watch it. lol
The original True Grit, nothing beats John Wayne, Silveraldo was allso a great western. Spaghetti westerns are great watches to.
Can't go wrong with Spaghetti Westerns. I love the original True Grit, The Searchers, High Noon and of course The Wild Bunch. As for Tombstone vs. Unforgiven, I believe that Unforgiven is so watchable for me is because it's so dark and gritty and those always aim to please. Tombstone is like a Hollywood version of a real incident. Think of it like this: Unforgiven = The Thing. Tombstone = My Bloody Valentine 3D. Both great movies, but I prefer my westerns dark.
LOL. I prefer mine a little lighter, hence my agreement with EB about John Wayne. LOVE John Wayne westerns! And I'm not gonna lie. The sillier, the better. Rio Bravo and McClintock are a couple of my all time faves!!
Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy the darker, grittier westerns as well (and how can I not love Spaghetti westerns?) but being... well... me, I will always prefer the lighter ones. LOL
^ John Wayne westerns are #1 in my book McClintock plus his other ones like Donovan's Reef and The Quiet Man they are classic. Any of the Clint Eastwood westerns are also tops in my book too.
Cline Eastwood and John Wayne westerns are fantastic. I recently saw The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Once Upon A Time in the West, both of which I really enjoyed. I have yet to see Pale Rider, but I heard it's good.
i seem to have sparked a movie discussion. hmm. yes... Silverado...hmm
LOL! Way to go, Daylight!
Pale Rider is awesome, but you know which one is REALLY fun? Two Mules For Sister Sara. SO GREAT!!!
I prefer a little Paint Your Wagon. On the topic of mystical westerns, I thought The Missing was fair. It wasn't amazing but still pretty entertaining. Reminded me of The Searchers a lot.
Outlaw Josey Wales is the best or at least up in the top 3 Clint Eastwood Westerns
OH I forgot High Plains Drifter
Bubba called his attorney and asked, "Is it true they're suing the cigarette companies for causing people to get cancer?"
"Yes, Bubba, sure is true," responded the lawyer.
"And now someone is suing the fast food restaurants for making them fat and clogging their arteries with all them burgers and fries, is that true, mister lawyer?"
"Sure is Bubba"
And the lady sued McDonald's for millions when she was given the hot coffee that she had ordered?"
"Yep."
"And the football player sued the university when he graduated and still couldn't read?"
"That's right," said the lawyer. "But why are you asking?"
"Cause what I want to know is, I was thinkin' can I sue Budweiser for all the ugly women I've slept with?"
Just got home from work..its 12:02 am..

Marklar... that f-ing sucks, man. :pirate:
The Unforgiven, One Eyed Jacks, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for best westerns. The Unforgiven is my favorite....real light and breezy, yes?
